As a Webmaster, one of the things you always need to be aware of is how well your the pages of
your site are interlinked. This is a crucial factor in overall search engine performance, and simply assuming that your architecture is robust enough to handle this is definitely not the route you want to take.

Google is making it easier for webmasters to make sure their articles get on Google News with their
newly-announced Sitemaps for Google News tool. Sitemaps for Google News is an XML-based, open source protocol that is supposed to allow for greater control over Google crawls as well as more useful data about what gets included and why.

Like many webmasters, when Google Sitemaps was released on 2 June 2005, I immediately created
and submitted XML sitemaps for all my websites, keeping my fingers crossed that Googlebot wouldn’t find any errors when he finally downloaded them. At the time, Shiva Shivakumar posted to the Official Google Blog:
