As we saw in part II AdSense Arbitrage: Keyword Selection, finding the right set of circumstances
where AdSense Arbitrage is going to work requires a bit of work. You’ve got to get a large enough set of related keywords, get some prices, and then compare and look for the right opportunity. If you read Rae’s blog then you might remember her post on Legitimate Use of Mechanical Grunts, which is a perfect for this situation. However after you get the keywords, and prices you’re still going to have to sift through all that data. I was talking with Scott (aka Web Professor) last week and he pointed me in the direction of Standard deviation.

In part I AdSense Arbitrage: Tips, Tricks & Secrets we went over the basics of how AdSense
arbitrage works. In this part we’re going to roll up our sleeves and look at some actual keywords and see if we can find some areas where we might like to try some arbitrage.
While high paying keyword lists may be somewhat useful it’s important to understand how those lists are generated and some of their limitations (see Contextual Advertising with AdSense | High-Paying Keywords, Part 2 (series) for a more in depth discussion). I like to start with the Overture bid tool, and if things look OK then go into Google Adwords tool. (more…)

If you frequent any of the AdSense forums chances are you’ve come across the phrase AdSense
Arbitrage, while it’s been around for a while a lot of people don’t understand what it is, or how it works. While I’m not a big player in the arbitrage model I’ve been doing it profitably for a few months, so I can explain how I do it and share a few tips I’ve picked up….To start let’s take a high level view of what AdSense arbitrage is and how it works. The basic principle is to pay for a low price for keyword in an advertising program like AdWords, Overture Yahoo Search Marketing, or MSN AdCenter and direct users to a page with AdSense or another contextual advertising program on it that has higher payout. Here is an explanation why "expensive keyword" isn’t equal to "profitable
keyword".
Almost all AdSense publishers are looking for the most expensive keywords. Let’s have a look at the top 100 most expensive keywords. But first let’s add 2 extra columns to the list: clicks/day and cost/day by Google AdWords estimation: (more…)

If you are testing your new website layout, you might be reloading your website pages
again-n-again. And if these pages contain Google Ads, each time your reload your page, you make a request to Google Ads Server for a new set of ads.
Certainly Google is unaware that you are testing your website and it might even penalize your account for "click-fraud" since the IP requesting ads remains same. And if in the worst-case scenario, you might accidently click on your own ads. And these extra "ad impressions" will also chance your CTR data.

A few days ago I wrote a post describing how I was fooled into breaking the terms of my Google
AdSense account, which resulted in Google terminating my account without any warning of any kind. While that was the right thing of them to do, the idea of being blacklisted without getting a chance to explain myself made me upset - and I asked myself if Google had grown too big to listen to a the explaination of a single user. Now I know the answer. (more…)

Google says it is ready to help Web sites run video advertisements, putting the Web search leader
into competition with television for the biggest chunk of ad spending.
The company is seeking to take the pay-per-click model it refined for text ads and apply the approach to video, cleaning up a nascent market where irritating ads that appear uninvited over the main text and then disappear distract users and limit advertisers’ desire to spend money on the medium. I was looking for a simple simple Wordpress plugin that just inserted Adsense code randomly into a
pre-existing blog. All the ones I found would only replace an Adsense comment with Adsense code. That’s great if you want to go through every article you have and post little adsense tags, but for a site that has some bulk to it, it sucks.
It also increased banner blindness by keeping the ads in the same place time after time.
My new Adsense Injection plugin just takes a random paragraph break in your article and inserts adsense code. It does one per story. It lets you pick how many total ads to do (0-3) and it lets you pick the formats and colors you want it to randomly select from. Biggnuts - Adsense Injection

A few days ago I tried putting Google AdSense ads on my site again, and I quickly realized that it
would be an easy way to cover the hosting costs in the future and still get a good amount money over every month. The same day, a few hours after I added the ads, a website visitor e-mailed me through my contact form and told me that many of the AdSense links led to completely unrelated sites which contained nothing but new AdSense links. A few examples were listed, and it looked really bad. The e-mail suggested that I would review the ad links and then use the competitive filter to remove them, because they are not only fooling Google of money - they are crap in every other way as well. I thought that it was a good idea, so I followed the instructions in the e-mail without realizing that it would cause trouble… (more…)

He started off as a computer graphics guy and went on to become a Google guy. Not just any
Google guy, though. He could well have been quoted in all the industry press and forums and blogs more than Google founders Larry Page and Sergei Brin.
How many people blog at Google? All of them, possibly. But which personal Google blog does everyone in the SEO industry watch?
